Novel general active reliability redundancy allocation problems and algorithm

The traditional (active) reliability redundancy allocation problem (RRAP) is used to maximize system by determining the and variables in each subsystem satisfy volume, cost, weight constraints. RRAP structure very simple, that is, redundant components are parallel subsystem, all subsystems either connected series or a bridge network. Owing its important practical applications, novel RRAP, called general (GRRAP), proposed extend series-parallel network more structure. To solve GRRAP, new algorithm, BAT-SSOA3, simplified swarm optimization (SSO) update solutions, small-sampling tri-objective orthogonal array (SS3OA) tune parameters binary-addition-tree algorithm (BAT) calculate fitness (i.e., reliability) of solution, penalty function force infeasible back feasible region. validate BAT-SSOA3 compared with boundary SSO (BSO), which best-known SSO-based for via designed experiments computational studies.
